Rat Races’s Dirty Weekend is a monstrous course set in the grounds of one of England’s finest Elizabethan Country Estates. The Full Mucker has 200 obstacles spread over 20 miles.
The team ran, swam, crawled, climbed, and jumped their way around the course in 7 hours. They tackled the worlds longest monkey bars and negotiated massive obstacles, some of which were taller than 2 double decker buses.
Along with over 6500 other runners the team helped to raised over £180,000 for the children’s charity Children with Cancer.
Competitors can divert to the Half Mucker (13 miles) at around the 10 mile stage, but even those that were struggling with injuries opted with dogged determined to finish the full course. Our time wasn’t fast, but there was a lot of waiting around at some of the larger obstacles.
Several members of our team hadn’t really run before, but they really got stuck in, dug deep and have been now been rewarded with a massive sense of achievement.
We have already entered a team for 2016 and we are determined to smash our finishing time.
This year we raised money for the races named charity but we would much rather help out a good cause closer to home. If any local organisation would like us to fund raise for them please get in touch. Or if you think you’d like to join us next year, pop in and start training, you’ll be surprised how much you can achieve in a year!
We would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has sponsored us, and to those who travelled up and supported us on the day! We couldn’t have done it without you.
